Come celebrate with the OSA Community. Buy your tickets today and get ready for our Winter Gala and Auction, sponsored by the Alliance of Parents and Teachers at the Oakland School for the Arts. With music, dancing, tasty food and a grown-up vibe, this second annual off-campus celebration and auction promises to be an evening to remember.

And -- while we are partying and bidding on cool stuff, we will be supporting our students and our wonderful school. What a bonanza! Among other things, auction proceeds will help strengthen our school's academic program, including continued development of our Learning Center and the establishment of the WriterCoach Connection program. We all benefit as we continue to make OSA a place where our children thrive, learn, and pursue their art.     Top

You might be wondering about the venue for our party - An auto body shop? Uptown Body and Fender is a wonderfully community-minded business, and thanks to the generosity of co-owners Giovanna Tanzillo and Lisandro Allende, we are able to take advantage of their clean, spacious facilities for our celebration. You will find it an exciting and interesting experience.

Instant Wine Cellar

An exciting feature of the Winter Gala is the Instant Wine Cellar raffle. Instant Wine Cellar? What's that? Well, to make an understatement, it's a very nice wine collection.

The winner of the Wine Cellar raffle will instantly take possession of an impressive collection of quality wines. Donations are still coming in, so the collection is not yet complete, but we can tell you that last year's collection consisted of more than 4 dozen bottles of wine, ranging in retail value from $10 to $66, including Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet, sparkling Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Barbera, and more. it was a fine collection, and we anticipate that this year's Instant Wine Cellar will be just as fine.     Top

How do you get in on this? A ticket for a chance to win this valuable Instant Wine Cellar is just $10. Or buy three chances -- three tickets for $25. To increase your chances, buy as many tickets as you like. To purchase your raffle tickets go to the APT Shopping Cart where you will find two raffle ticket items:

  • single raffle tickets at $10 each
  • bundle of 3 at $25 for each set of 3

The Shopping Cart will not issue actual tickets. But we will set aside your raffle tickets, with your name on them, so your chances of winning will be protected. They will be issued to you at the door when you arrive at the Winter Gala.

Auction Donations

Please help us obtain auction items. The more items we have the more money APT will raise to support our students and faculty. Here are some ideas.

  • Ask people with whom you do business -- e.g., your favorite store or restaurant, if they would donate a product, service, or gift certificate. Items such as lessons, home organizer, a vacation home for a weekend getaway, works of art, jewelry, gift baskets, and almost any product are welcome.
  • You can download and print this Donation Request Letter, which describes the event and the cause, to give to merchants and other potential donors. Use the included "Donation Certificate" to obtain a record and a description of the donation. Please contact The Winter Gala Team about donations you obtain.
  • Consider hosting an event or outing. Do you like to cook, host a meal for eight? Can you host a spaghetti feed or a spring garden party? Can you teach knitting, fishing, kayaking, or photography? Please contact Karen Sternsteiun if you want to host an event.
